Programmes
Our programmes
Raising Hope South Africa offers a number of programmes aimed at supporting families and individuals impacted by disabilities. Our programmes are aimed at achieving the following outcomes:
Equipping parents of children with disabilities with knowledge and skills to be able to better support, encourage and direct their children into adulthood.
Promoting and encouraging inclusion of families and individuals with disabilities into all facets of life, including community, education, sport, and religious experiences.
Homeschool Hope
The Homeschool Hope programme offers parents who have chosen to homeschool their children a supportive environment in which to share their challenges and struggles as well as their success with other parents. The programme offers talks by guests in the field of education and on related and relevant topics, and takes places via zoom.
Disability Ministry
The Disability Ministry programme partners with churches to assist them in becoming more inclusive and adjust their offerings to support the needs of individuals and families, young and old, who are impacted by various disabilities. Support is offered in practical terms, as well as through the provision of training for those working with the disabled, and include support for programmes such as Kids church, youth programmes, holiday programmes, life groups and family events.
Raising Hope South Africa is proud to partner with the Durbanville Baptist Church for the UP Family Day events. These events offer parents and caregivers the opportunity to connect with one another in sessions which include presentations by professionals on topics around financial provisions and tax, mental health issues, education, advocating as a parent, medical topics, legal discussions and self-care for the caregiver.
